Naruto (ナルト) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. The series is based on two one-shot manga by Kishimoto. The first one, titled Karakuri, released in 1995 by Shueisha and earned Kishimoto an honorable mention in Shueisha's monthly Hop Step Award in 1996.
